Meet Bill Bolton


Bill Bolton founded the Customers & Guests advisory practice to share his knowledge and expertise. It’s the next evolution in an extensive career that has included being Chairman and CEO of a large supermarket chain, a restaurant industry entrepreneur for the past decade, serving as a director of a public flexible packaging company for 14 years (and two as Chairman of the Board), director of a hardware corporation for 6 years, along with various family company and private equity advisory board roles.

Bill Bolton is an observer of consumer behavior in both retail and restaurant settings who is committed to the development of a compelling consumer value proposition. A thoughtful disruptor, he is inspired by the principle articulated in the Jewel Companies Concepts: “We must be willing to cast aside today’s methods, however effective, for those that seem better suited for tomorrow.”

Identified early in his career as a visionary fresh foods merchandiser and later as a developer of unique restaurant concepts, today Bill is recognized as a progressive design thinker. He is an avowed data and analytics strategist who has evolved into a “blue ocean” strategy practitioner. Bill assists and advises future leaders as a teacher, mentor, coach and guide.
